Professorship of Geriatic Medicine
Sir William Ferguson Anderson appointed to first professorship of geriatic medicine in Britain at Glasgow University.
1969 Ken Dodd visit’s the children at Bridgeton child welfare clinic and day nursery to hand out vaccine impregnated sugar lumps as part of Glasgow’s anti-polio campaign.

1973 Gartnavel General Opens
First new general hospital in Glasgow since Second World War, opened.
