In 1995, The Royal Hospital for sick children
celebrated 80 years since the countrys first almoner (later
known as a medical social worker) was appointed in 1915. To commemorate
this occasion the Scottish Health Minister Lord Fraser of Carmylie
unveiled a plaque in the Board Room of the Yorkhill NHS Trust.
